Nicholas Plewman Architects, based in Johannesburg and having recently opened an office in Stellenbosch, was founded and is directed by Nick Plewman. This architect has combined his life-long passion for the wilderness into two decades of experience in design and project management in remote and sensitive environments. He’s renowned for having designed some of Africa’s most exclusive safari lodges, as well as a number of very exclusive private villas in Kenya and South Africa. Recent, award-winning projects include Wilderness Safaris’ Bisate and Mombo Lodges in Rwanda and Botswana respectively. Tengile Safari Lodge in the Sabi Sands opened in December 2018.
Plewman’s practice has completed over 50 projects across southern and East Africa for both public and private clients, which have been featured in several books and magazines, such as Architectural Digest and Condé Nast Traveller.
