Richard Lurie matriculated at Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch in 1989, he then studied Law and Politics at Rhodes University and concluded tertiary education at UCT with a post graduate studies in Management. He and his family enjoy the outdoor life with friends and health being shared priorities.
Says Lurie: ‘I’m part of the generation of ex-golfers turned mountain bikers and thoroughly enjoy the lifestyle that comes with that.
‘I started my career in the corporate world in Johannesburg and London before entering the private sector. The lessons learned there laid a valuable foundation for what was to follow once my entrepreneurial juices started to flow. Currently, I’m involved in two businesses in Cape Town: EuroCasa, which imports high-end kitchens and bedroom wardrobes from Italy; and Infin8 Surfacing where we fabricate with solid surfacing materials such as DuPont Corian.
‘I’ve been involved in the design side of business for the last 13 years – initially in the mechanical sector and currently relating to high-end residential spaces. Cutting-edge design has always inspired me and I’m now in the very fortunate position of being able to combine my two passions in the form of design and business.’
