Inspired by cultural trading along the ancient Silk Road – which stretched from China, through India, Asia, Mesopotamia, Egypt, Africa, Greece to Rome – the collection promises to spark the interests of homemakers as well as travel enthusiasts who are eager to add an eclectic air of old world luxe to their spaces.

Think Morrocan self-coloured embroidered duvets, exquisite ivory coloured faux furs, and a Persian influence of ornamental fabrics and mystical rugs, giant tassels on scatters, and exotic botanical jacquards.

Says @home senior trends researcher and product designer, Louise Vorster, “We’re extremely excited to enter the last stretch of 2018 with a contemporary collection developed from global artisan influence.”

“The design team has gone far lengths to research the most up-and-coming international trends,” adds Vorster. “It has, of course, been fascinating to discover craftsmanship reminiscent of old world exotica and source the finest natural materials which set a gracious mood but still exude new age glamour – a creatively rich selection that will appeal to both the selective and all-embracing décor lover.”

The collection further features dark wood side tables with forged brass details, parquet inlaid consols, rattan chairs and luxe velvet padded headboards.

One of the collection’s themes, Objets des curiosities, features museum curated botanicals, artisan ceramics, oxidised bronze sculptures, giant tiger spotted orchids and mirrored jewellery boxes, forged metal framed mirrors add an air of mystery and intrigue.
