TheSize, designer and manufacturer of Neolith®, is introducing its Sintered Stone surfaces for furniture applications at this year’s furniture production and interiors exhibition Interzum in Cologne. The comprehensive offering provides a wide array of colours and finishes to easily update residential interiors to match the taste and lifestyle of the homeowners.
In the digital age where information can be accessed at any time of the day, people have become a lot more conscious about how people live and the latest developments in products. Inspiration is everywhere, encouraging designers to incorporate the latest interior trends into their projects to meet the demands and desires of the recipients.
Instead of buying new furniture in order to stay up to date, Neolith lightweight surfaces can be applied to already existing surfaces, immediately providing a fresh, contemporary look. Some of the 2017 trends include biophilic design (nature inside/wood), the ‘mineral look’ (e.g. marble), and sustainable materials like sintered stone. Neolith’s Timber and Classtone collections offer suitable décors to emulate these trends while providing an eco-friendly alternative to the ‘real deal’.
Neolith slabs are made of clays, feldspar, silica and natural mineral oxides, which makes the material 100% recyclable. In fact, up to 52% of any Neolith slab is already composed of recycled natural materials. Furthermore, Neolith surfaces do not release harmful chemicals, making it safe to install on e.g. dining tables and worktops. Other potential applications include bathrooms, kitchens, walls and flooring, as well as fireplaces.
The slab’s minimum thickness of 3mm proves to be especially ideal for cabinetry veneering, while the 6mm slab is great for cladding metal or wood structures like tables and sinks. Offering a thickness of up to 20mm Neolith surfaces can be mitered to create thicker options and meet different tastes and demands. Neolith is also available in large slabs, which allows the seamless application on long tables, oversized storage drawers and cabinets.
The Neolith SKIN catalogue is specifically dedicated to interiors and showcases more than 50 models in different finishes to satisfy all types of tastes, needs and trends. The variety of patterns, including natural, industrial elements like wood, metal, fabric and marble, allows for a highly personalised design.
